Eligibility requirements

Like all insurance cover, there are certain eligibility requirements that must be met in order to qualify for ASU direct.

These are:
  • You are over 18 but under 64 years of age when cover starts
  • You are permanently resident in the UK
  • You are working a minimum of 16 hours each week (incl overtime), and have been doing so for 6 continuous months before cover is to start
  • You are not absent from work due to sickness or unemployment when cover starts
  • You are not aware of any possible unemployment when cover starts
  • You must have eligible financial commitments

Eligible financial commitments include one or more of the following:
  • a Mortgage
  • a Personal Loan
  • a Home Improvement Loan
  • a Car Loan
  • your Rent
Please note: we cannot cover commercial loans or day-to-day living expenses, including Council Tax, utilities and credit card bills

Continuing eligibilty
You must remain eligible for ASU direct while it is in force. To do this you must have an eligible financial commitment as listed above. We can increase or decrease cover if you add in further commitments or pay off existing commitments but you must let us know of any changes in your financial commitments
